I've had a gal. size bag of garden veggies in the freezer for a while now. I can't stand the taste of frozen veggies, even if they came straight from the garden so ANYWAYS, I got that out today and took it out to some of the chickens. They looked at it like "What is THAT?" Lol, it was really...
Mille fluer, that's right. I couldn't remember what the lady called them plus wanted to get second opinions, lol.
The others I know are Bantam Cochins but not sure on the type. The daughter, not shown, has frizzle/sizzle genes. I'll post pics of the daughter when I can.
Sorry for the caps but I've never had a foamy egg during hatch, what does it mean???? Should we help the chick???? It's alive an pipping but white foamy substance is coming out. HELP???
Also, there are some chicks in there that recently hatched, do I need to take them out? I don't want any...
Well, I told hubby... He didn't say much, LOL. But, I guess I'll have him process the roo when we do some Cornish soon..... I won't tolerate a roo like that around here.
Ok, among the many chickens we have, we have 3 RIR roos. Two of which are fine but the third one keeps attacking my little duck, who is actually about the same size. The other day when the roo attacked Duckie (yea, her name is Duckie lol) he looked as though he was trying to mate her which I...
Sounds like you need to put a sticky note on the bator saying "DO NOT TOUCH!!!"
On a more serious note, I really hope more hatch for you. I've never hatched ducklings before but I hope somehow they will recover from the bator being opened.
I forgot where I read it but it was somewhere on this forum that with farm fresh eggs you should wait about 2 weeks to cook them like that, aside from it being mentioned above. So, when I know I want some deviled eggs or hard boiled I go for the "older" eggs in the fridge. Works great..... On a...
Yea, I was thinking once she got a little bigger and has at least some adult feathers. Right now I let her out during the day while I'm feeding everyone. They all just look at her and cock their heads, LOL. The adult ducks look at her a little curious, or like "Oh, is it one of us?" But with the...
I have a Khaki Campbell duckling and was wondering at what age I should add her to the flock? We have chickens and 3 ducks.
I would have to check back and see how old she is but she still has her baby feathers. She sure is growing though!
Thanks!
I actually made my first one this evening, before dark and the hen I put it had absolutely no problem with it. No funny walking or anything. Though it was a little challenging catching her first, lol. We have 3 LB hens and one LB rooster, we've kept them around b/c the hens have been laying well...
Holy cow! How many do you collect each day? Lol.
I sold 3 dozen.... to one customer... But the other day I got my first "drive-by" customer. His wife saw my sign out front and had him come by to get some, lol. Hopefully he'll come back.
Ok, I don't have pics yet but I'm so excited I want to share the news. My hubby just brought home 2 female Crested Pekins I found on CL, YEEE! They are SO cute! As soon as we put them down they wobbled right up to our Swedish, lol. Can't wait to show pics tomorrow!
