That big boy will make for some fine leftovers, plus the soup you could make out of the carcass. I usually make a soup with the bones, and make a stock.....then add some of the left over meat, and the kitchen sink...just depends on what I have on hand and top it off with a big can of Spicy V-8...
That's good, sounds like you have all the bases covered. When your power goes out, is it off for a long time, or do they get it back up and running fairly quickly?
I feed my parrots cooked beans all the time. You don't have to cook them all the way like you would for human comsumption. Raw beans contain a trypsin inhibitor that prohibits protien metobolism, plus raw beans also has a toxin called hemaglutin....which even in small doses can be deadly...
