OK, I am real new at this. 3 days ago I hatched 3 of 40 Chinese Painted Quail eggs which I later learned are commonly referred to as Button Quail. It does sound more exotic and that is what sold me on trying them.
None of the posts mention free ranging them, does that mean if they get out they...
I bought a flat of 50 and discarded the dirty and real small eggs. The 40 others are in the incubator on day4 now. I am manually turning a double and a triple row of cut up flat.
My question is " Would it be a good idea to let them hatch in the flat or should they be removed ?

I started with 5 keets in September and they have been confined to the coop ever since.
A few weeks ago 1 flew out when I had the door open to feed them. It flew to a near by tree and the others called to it but it did not answer back. It then flew across the field to another tree and I had to...
I have to quiet down the neighborhood, so he has to go. He is not show quality but a good representation of the breed. He was hatched last spring. You must be able to arrange pick up real soon.
I hatched a Brahma bantum and a Columbian Rock this spring. I added a Silkie a few weeks later. There were no real problems until a month ago when I added a Chantecler rooster. The Columbian Rock is the boss hen. There were no noticeable problems before the introduction of the roo but now she...
I hatched the large white hen from an egg that was labeled Columbian Rock. I can not find this breed listed. Is it another name for a Delaware because that is what she looks like to me.
2 of my pullets have been laying for a few weeks now, the only problem is the eggs have a hard shell and once you get it cracked the membrane is real hard to get through. DW would rather have store eggs than deal with these.
The girls free range and have grower finisher pellets in their...

Is there any hope?
I decided to let broody hen #1 sit on a few eggs. A few days later, hen #2 goes broody also.
There is 1 neat box and they have been sharing it. It is 18 inches off the ground, what a bad location!
They have ejected 3 eggs in the past 2 days. One was not fertile, another had a partially developed...
I have been looking for a thermometer that will give an accurate temp of an egg. Checking the same model in the store shows different readings, so I don't want them.
Medical ones tend to to show the highest temp, not for continuous use.
Has anyone found a really good thermometer?
I am looking to buy, sell or trade eggs with Canadians because shipping across borders is not an option.
I have Buff Brahma Bantum eggs but would like to obtain other breeds.
Anyone want to trade or just sell some eggs? Let me know what you have available.
