5 week old Barnevelder won't grow feathers.

At first I was thinking failure to thrive. He's getting bigger, but he has no feathers and the few he does have, seem to be coming in at weird angles. He eats, drinks, poops and plays with the others. We've put electro lights in his water and given him vitamins and extra protein since day one...

Gender of 5 week olds w/one failure to thrive?

These are all the same age; about 5 weeks. Speckled Sussex, EE and Barnevelder (w/failure to thrive I'm assuming.) The Barnevelder was not doing well at first, but w/a little TLC, he's came around. EE- Roo?[/IMG] Speckled Sussex- 1 pullet, 1? The little guy is in there too.

Our 2 week old Sussex needs a new name.

The chubby guy on the right was one of 3 Speckled Sussex day olds we picked up. Right away, he seemed a little "off". He was sleeping a lot more than the others and seemed to be breathing kind of fast. We thought we might lose him, and called him the "Dead Guy". A day later, I found him like...

Will my dorky adolesent drakes hurt my (chicken) hens?

I have 2 runner drakes (I think) Who will not leave my chickens or eachother alone. There's a lot of unwanted "loving" going on here. Should I just let them work things out on their own? I have no female ducks, just my chickens who at first didn't seem to mind (would even squat for the drakes)...

    Broody, sick or depressed? Help..

I have 5 young hens (chickens) and 2 young drake runner ducks. The 2 ducks have been "loving" on 2 of the hens... Really bothering them. And now they're acting like they've gone broody. (I think) They have made a little nest and won't get off except to eat and when they do, the hens get attacked...

1 week old duck. Seizures? Wry neck? Please help!

I just picked up 2 runner ducklings Thursday. One is 1 week and the other is 2 weeks old. I have only ever raised chickens before (with no problems). They were both doing fine until this morning. I put the little guys in the grass outside and the little one seemed to be tilting his head to one...

I want a few ducks but don't know where to start... Any advice?

I live in a pretty rural area. We have a fenced in yard, pretty good size. No pond or anything like that. I currently have 6 hens who roam the yard freely and we have never had a problem with them. I'd like a few ducks as pets. We have plenty of eggs so I won't need them for that. Maybe dumb...

Almost 2 year old GLW hen Fayetteville NC SOLD

I have a young GLW hen who is too aggressive with my 2 year old. She follows him around and pecks at him. She's fine with adults, but she also bullies our other hens. She is a good layer. She is free range and I'd like to keep her that way. We love her and want her to go to a good home. $15 or...

Our GLW hen is crowing! Idenity crisses?

This morning we heard our hen let out a crow. (More like a scream) We thought she was in distress but she was just fine. Strutting around the yard crowing like a roo. We did have a roo that she was raised with and recently had to give him away because of the neighbors. Is she missing him or...
