When I think of vulture hocks I picture the stiff long feathers on my d'uccles. Your Brahma doesn't seem to have those feathers. His look soft and fluffy. Just not grown in all the way down his legs yet.

My nest boxes are at floor level in the coop. None of my roosts are more than 18" off the floor since my Brahma cockerel crippled his foot I suspect from jumping.

Such a handsome boy. He looks so tall. I'd love to see how he's going to turn out. I'll bet when he fills out in a year or so he's going to be a very impressive little barnyard brahma.

I know Brahmas are technically am American made breed from what I've read. But they're bred from stock which originated in warm tropical to temperate climates if I'm not mistaken in the far East. So I'd think they'd be fine in any climate.

Mine did fine this past summer even with days and days in the 90s and tons of humidity. I think the most important thing is to give them the option of going where they choose. They'll regulate themselves between shade, sun, cool dirt pits, etc. Just make all of those things available to them...

When dosing with tylan do you have to not eat eggs for a while afterwards? If so, what's the waiting period. Also, I've been giving .5 ml orally for 4 days and don't see much improvement. It's a full sized Light Brahma. Should I dose more because it's a bigger bird? Can they be...
