Da' Cute and Cuddly Call Duck thread!

Are there any trustworthy places that sell Call eggs for incubation? I've been looking around, but nothing. I'd love to hatch my own. I have a blue and a grey, but I got them older and they are terrified of humans. I'd love to get more, but start from the egg.

    Frizzle cochin hen or rooster?

Thanks :) I swore it layed eggs because someone has been laying small eggs that don't look like the big girls and it doesn't ever make a sound unless pecked. I can't stand this chicken. I'm sure we will never have any frizzles again. Thankfully, none of my eggs look fertilized. We don't...

    Frizzle cochin hen or rooster?

It also sits on the eggs. Do roosters normally do that? Does anyone know about what age frizzles begin to crow? It doesn't crow at all.

    Frizzle cochin hen or rooster?

This thing is about 1 year old and we thought it was a hen. It doesn't crow, but it sure does bite. I thought it had layed a few eggs because we had smaller unidentified eggs in with the other hens' eggs. I only have large chickens, so it couldn't be theirs. And it wasn't a wind egg. I'm...

    Are these actually Welsummers?

I'm sorry, they actually came from Privett. I was looking at a Cackle catalog when I was typing. I wouldn't doubt if they had something else in them, but they did look exactly like Welsummer chicks. When they started getting feathers, they looked exactly like a previous poster's chicks...

    Are these actually Welsummers?

I emailed them again and this time they still say they look like and are Welsummers. Has anyone else had Welsummers and can remember the way they colored out? I've had 1 and I don't remember how she feathered out. I sold one of the roosters to a nice lady yesterday and he is doing great with...

    Are these actually Welsummers?

I think they look the New Hampshire's as well, but of course the NH chicks are yellowish and they are lighter. I have 2 NH pullets just 2 weeks younger and they feather out differently, too. I'm going to email the hatchery today. I sure do like how these chickens look and their temperament...

    Are these actually Welsummers?

One of them does have the yellow neck feathers. Their heads are lightening up. They came from Cackle. They "assured" me they are Welsummers. I can try to take better pictures of them if anyone wants. Thanks everyone :)

    Are these actually Welsummers?

Im sure they are not PR. PR chicks are yellow with rusty coloring. These were chipmunk babies.

    Are these actually Welsummers?

They looked exactly like the chipmunk chicks. I was told the only other chicks they were hatching in the hatchery were Speckled Sussex. Which look pretty much the same as Welsummers as babies.

    Are these actually Welsummers?

I got these as packaging peanuts and was told they were Welsummers and they did indeed look like Welsummer chicks. Well, as they grow, their coloring just seems too brown. Is it just because they are young? 2 of them are roos and 1 might be a hen. They were hatched about March1st- ish.

    Thanks! I'll look him up.

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

That is good to know. I messaged them to set up a time to go out and see them. I want a Spangled Russian Orloff and they have them. If they do not have a good facility or handle the birds properly, I will not be buying.

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I was just looking through Craigslist and saw Baxter Barn in Fall City had some. I'd try them and see.

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I would LOVE to have a couple Bielefelders. I've heard a lot of good about them. There is no way I could spend that much on a chicken though. I've seen an ad on craigslist about them. I'm going to be ordering from a hatchery, not sure which yet probably Privett, for a selection of bantams...

These were the silkie roosters I gave to a friend. Pretty nice fellows.

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

These are 2 different guys. I actually just had someone come pick up the roosters. I'll be happy to have this cold weather gone. I'm excited to get some new chicks in this "spring".

    The Bantam-lover Chat Thread!

HI! I have 1 pure bred Jap bantam (blacktailedwhite in my avatar), 5 black Japs (although I'm not sure they are pure), and one really ugly frizzle. Oh, and a polish crested. I've had silkies, but I sold our hen and gave away our 2 roos. I've actually had many breeds of chickens, but the...

    Silkie / Japanese Bantam Crosses

I know this thread is kind of old, BUT I have 8 chicks (well 2 1/2 months old) that are from a black japanese bantam hen and silkie roo. They look like Jap bantams with black skin. They have no feathers on their legs, no crests, nothing. Some do have black and yellow skin. I believe all...
