She is doing good actually. We think a fox got her. The same fox we later found out took another duck a few days later and never ate him. My daughter found him alive in the den
We got up this morning and it looks like something may have gotten our pekin duck. She has a tear in her bill that looks more like a clean saw cut. It is not bleeding but I am fearful that the beak could break off. She is still trying to eat and drink. Should we just leave her be? Any first aid...
hmm Don't take my word for it but the grey one carries him/herself more like a roo. But I am not familiar with the breed at all so I really don't know. Hopefully someone else is around here.
I think everyone had a really nasty winter. Right before it hit our neighbors dug a giant hole in their yard and everyone as like what in the world are they doing? It turns out they were making a pond and they had some pekins 6 to be exact. Now I only see 3. They kept them outside all winter...
Its been raining like crazy here. so apparently our ducks think the whole backyard is their pond. I need to post a pic of them swimming in the puddles.
I'm new to chicks but to me it looks like you have a barred rock sebright mix. (please don't hold me to that) I had both and it has features of both. Like I said, I'm new so I'm probably wrong on the mix.
We have 3 right now. 2 possible females 1 possible male all about 9 weeks old. They are so cute but refuse to be separated. They are noisy and dirty, but did I mention cute? We enjoy just sitting out back and watch them quack around the backyard, swim in the pool, and eating the tree...
Good question. I bought 4 red pullets and they all look the same except for one. She is slightly smaller, darker and has a shorter tail and wings. So I have no idea.
Thank you for your responses! Well I will be happy with a couple of silver laced. I argued with the store for about a half hour they swore they were barred rocks. Glad to hear that I should have some b&w pullets at least. I also grabbed a couple of black astralorps and a couple of guinea. Now...
Sorry! My husband mixed all the pictured up! Anyway, the dusty grey one I would like to know the breed. 7-8 weeks old bantam of some sort. Forgive the muddy foot feathers its been raining here like crazy. Also hoping shes a female. And for the other 2 chicks I picked them up today they were...
So when I went to TCS to pick up my chicks, I thought the bantams were super cute. So I picked out all bantams. Well unfortunately 4 of those appear to be roos. We sadly do not have enough land for any roos. I do not know what breeds they are. They are about 4 weeks old now. We live in the south...
