    *Urgent* Chick Becoming Weaker

I do not seem to have any baking soda at the moment. Can this temporarily be omitted from the solution?

    *Urgent* Chick Becoming Weaker

Thanks for your response! I will try the electrolyte solution and see if it helps. The chick hatched out Sunday, or maybe late Saturday, (day 22 or 23) and used to be more active, standing and walking on its own, though not very coordinated. The other chicks are currently housed in a brooder and...

    *Urgent* Chick Becoming Weaker

Hi BYC! I have had this chick in the Incubator for a couple days to dry and fluff, but he/she has failed to do so. Now he/she seems to be getting progressively weaker. How can I help him/her? I also tried to give the chick some water thinking it might help, but now I fear it may be choking...

*Help Needed* Chick Still Hasn't Properly Dried and Fluffed

Unfortunately, I do not have a real gauge. However, I did suspect the humidity to be high and took action by reducing the water compartment level and by getting rid of the condensation buildup.

*Help Needed* Chick Still Hasn't Properly Dried and Fluffed

I have a bantam chick which has been in the incubator for about two days now trying to dry off and gain fluff. However, the end result has been a chick with a dried feather mess, and I am unsure if it is fit for a brooder transfer. As I am concerned for its well-being, I am wondering if there is...

*Require Advice* Can I Safely Transport Drying Chicks To New Location

Hello BYC! I am wondering if it would safe to transport chicks which are currently in the process of drying to a new location about twenty minutes away. I would like to have a better watch on them and am concerned that one of the chicks is approaching the 72-hour mark and will need food and...

*Help Please* Chick Stuck In Shell

Hi BYC! This weekend my eggs were set to hatch, but unfortunately I was away for day 21 and much of day 22. When I returned, many chicks had successfully hatched, but there remained two eggs as such which have obviously pipped, but made no further progress. I am not sure when this took place...

Day 19 and Accidentally Left Egg Turners In

Hello BYC members. It is currently midway through day 19 of incubation with an assortment of mixed eggs I received through postage. Half of the eggs are in a Brinsea Mini Advance Incubator, whilst the others reside in an incuview. For some reason unbeknownst to me, I neglected to remove the egg...

Question: How Accurate is the Temperature on a Brinsea Mini Advance?

Lol I have to agree with you on the features. Previous to the Brinsea I had a hovabator. Loved the incubator and it was very simple to operate. On the Brinsea they want to know things like the angle of the turner. I understand how it works now, but if it had a hatch chickens button it would be...

Question: How Accurate is the Temperature on a Brinsea Mini Advance?

Hi there! I just recently bought myself a Brinsea mini advance and was hoping to try and get a hatch out of yet. However I don't really have another thermometer to use in it. I am wondering if anyone knows how accurate the digital readout temperature is, and if it is accurate enough to hatch...

Day 23 and 3 Unhatched Eggs

Seem to be doing good, I will try and post a picture of them when I have a chance.

Day 23 and 3 Unhatched Eggs

Thanks for all your help! After opening the other two eggs, another one appeared infertile or not developed at all and one had a chick inside but it looked to have only been about sixteen days old (just getting in position to absorb yolk sac).

Day 23 and 3 Unhatched Eggs

Finished first one and it was all just yolk. I guess it was never fertilized. Should I carry on to the others?

Day 23 and 3 Unhatched Eggs

Ok, and if I discover that the chick is somehow alive, should I place back in the incubator?

Day 23 and 3 Unhatched Eggs

How would you recommend doing that? Do you think I should crack and pull the shell off the membrane and see what is inside?
