I have a roo who is about 1yr old, crowing nicely, anyhow i have raised some chics that are now about 6 mts old, there is a couple roos in that batch, they never crow,, although the older roo is in a separate coop from them, is it normal for just one roo to crow, or will the other roos start...

did you contact them before you posted a negative againist them, what i have read on this post sounds like more good than bad, maybe the post office had alittle to do with the late shipping, i never had any issue myself with them, sounds like a combination of a few things to me that might have...

hey spring chicken, your right about mole infestation with grubs, i lived over in New Boston Mi. for awhile and had mole problems, i used grub-ex on my yard and it helped eliminate the grubs and used the peanuts for the moles Quote:

when i had an issue like that i got a couple chics, put them in a cage in plain view, put some chicken livers around cage as well, pulled my bronco close by had the 12 ga laying there and waited, and bingo, as planned the predator had returned for the easy meal, flipped the truck lights on...

they seem to be doing well, still 5 eggs in the box, the chics are out and moving about along side mama, but the box the eggs are in is to high for the chicks to get back in with mama if she is still sitting,, all new 2 me, was wondering if i should move the eggs or put the chics back in there...

well thanks for looking, this part of raising chickens is new to me, well i have a sebright hen and roo in the same coop, and away from my other chickens as they seemed to be aggressive with others. The hen has been sitting on eggs as she has done before, well BINGO,, a new chick, never figured...

Hawks are hard to keep away from free ranging, it's the element of surprise they have, i like to let some of my chickens out when i am out doing chores and am within a close range to them, nothing is totally safe, but what I was getting at was the same reasons people post about there birds...

i have used a portable radio on a 24 hr talk show, keeping the volume down but still loud enough to hear, it seems to have helped me out alot, than ya have something to listen to when doing coop cleaning as well
