    i had got 12 RiRs and 12 barred rocks as young chics, lost a couple and rest are doing great, the question is i have 3 that never grew much, they are about a third in size as the others, i had removed them early on and it just seems like there growth is stunted, is that possible, they seem fine...

    Moles,, ya can get mole peanuts at tractor suppy, home depot, ect , it looks like a peanut and will kill em, you take a stick punch a little hole in the top of the tunnel pour a few in there and there history, also they make a trap that will snare them when they run thru the tunnel,, moles hunt...

    when i had an issue like that i got a couple chics, put them in a cage in plain view, put some chicken livers around cage as well, pulled my bronco close by had the 12 ga laying there and waited, and bingo, as planned the predator had returned for the easy meal, flipped the truck lights on...

    they seem to be doing well, still 5 eggs in the box, the chics are out and moving about along side mama, but the box the eggs are in is to high for the chicks to get back in with mama if she is still sitting,, all new 2 me, was wondering if i should move the eggs or put the chics back in there...

    Hawks are hard to keep away from free ranging, it's the element of surprise they have, i like to let some of my chickens out when i am out doing chores and am within a close range to them, nothing is totally safe, but what I was getting at was the same reasons people post about there birds...

    i have used a portable radio on a 24 hr talk show, keeping the volume down but still loud enough to hear, it seems to have helped me out alot, than ya have something to listen to when doing coop cleaning as well
