I understand. This is what he looks like:
Otherwise, I do have a welsummer roo the same age - just have to confirm with my better half that we're no planning to keep the Welsummer Roo.
I have a beautiful Welsummer crossed Golden Buff rooster you can have! I'll upload a pic later but he looks like a RIR - but is a mutt however I look at it. He is about 8 weeks old. I actually have approx 10 roo chicks that age I'll most likely drop off to a friend if I can't give them away...
Hey everyone - Just curious as to what Marylander's interest was had with purchasing Cream Legbars, BBS Ameraucanas, or Creole Cream Legbars (CLB over Welsummer Olive Eggers) next spring? I'm not NPIP certified, but am MDA registered back yard flock. This would be small scale, probably hatching...
Any feedback is greatly appreciated BYC family! Hatched these chicks about a month ago and was told the eggs were Blue Splash Wheaten Ameraucanas - what do you think? Note - its only two, and I believe the blueish one is a female and the EE looking one is a male.
Hey everyone, bumping an old thread - hatched these "blue wheaten splash ameraucana" chicks almost about 4 days ago. Problem is - why dont they look like any BWS Ameraucana chick picture on the internet? The eggs they hatched from were as blue as my black ameraucana eggs.

Yeah, we're apparently all on the Western side of Maryland... I have a White Leghorn and Light Brahma roo (chicks four weeks old) I'm willing to let go for free if anyone is interested?
I also have 20 BY crosses (easter eggers & and french black copper maran crosses) that are a week old if...
Thanks again Junebug, may I ask - what would need to be improved/changed IOT make him show quality? I was actually talking to the wife about potential of entering him in the fair this comjng fall... Thanks again!
Hi BYC Members! Need some help, please? Looking to confirm my Black Ameraucana Rooster meets the standards, as in APA prescribed standards... I think he does, but value the expert opinions from the members here. I purchased him last August from a BYC seller in central VA so at this point I just...
Hi SoMDChick, really you'll find most dual purpose breeds are optimal for Southern Maryland (as in cold hardy and heat tolerant); check out meyerhatchery.com and browse the breed profiles... Gives great information on tolerance as well as quantity of eggs layed per year
Thanks! Yeah was eager and set eggs on 30 Dec 15... THEY ARE OUTTA CONTROL!!! These pics were just taken, and they're only a little more than a week old. At this point I believe I have 9 female and 2 male - which isn't a bad ratio... I tried the old wives tale of wider rounded eggs versus longer...
I will have FBCM chicks in Mar/Apr - could hatch brahmas too (light brahma rooster cross buff brahma hens)
ETP - how many brahmas? I could collect & set eggs sooner if you wanted?
