Thank you. I got the eggs and they were very dirty but I didn’t clean them. Some are markings, some are dirt spots. Eggs are very hard to see through. I will throw out the 2 that seem more clear and hang onto the ones that have a dark mass for now. I appreciate the feedback!
I haven’t hatched peafowl in years. I have 4 eggs in my still air incubator. Today is day 17. I’ve candled every few days since day 7 and I haven’t seen veins at all. The eggs are very hard to see through so I wasn’t too worried. But the development seems to have stopped. I can’t find any good...
Today is day 35. Tried to candle them but it’s very hard for me to see anything. Am I looking for movement? Really thought we would’ve had a few chicks by now. 😥
Started with 21 days in incubator. Peachicks were still alive and bopping around when I candled them at day 21. Then placed them under my broody hen. They were due Tuesday. I’ve never had them go longer than 28 days when using the incubator. Today is day 30. Should I be concerned? What’s the...
I can’t seem to keep my incubator at 99.5. I can either keep it at 98 perfectly or 105. The SLIGHTEST touch to the temp knob makes it fluctuate horribly. I’ve been fighting it for 3 days. Is 98° going to be sufficient? I’m using the old fashioned thermometer that came with it. My battery one...
Thank you so much for all the details! This is a little bit new to me as I have almost always used an incubator. I appreciate your advice. That’s a great plan and I will definitely try this. Thank you!
How did this go? I need to use my incubator for my 4 peafowl eggs as my hen is no longer broody. Did the egg turner work OK for you? I’m not sure if i should use it or not
I have a little giant still air incubator that I have used in the past very successfully for peafowl and chickens. I have not used the automatic egg turner for peafowl in the past. Has anyone had success using this? I have found some threads or people have used the egg turner for turkey and did...
Thank you. If she goes back to being broody, is it safe to take the eggs from the incubator and place underneath her? Or do they need to stay in the incubator the full 28 to 30 days? Thank you
I have four fertile peacock eggs that I purchased seven days ago.
Prior to this purchase, I had a broody hen. She was on her & everyone else’s eggs for about a week. I was removing all of her eggs. She got out of her brood phase.
These fertile eggs just happened to land in my lap. How can I...
With everything I’ve read here, it looks like both of these 8 week olds are cockerels. Would really love to hear that at least one is pullet!
They both have quite a bit of red but one is just a little bit more pink and a little smaller.
I bought them at three days old. I know I had a 50-50...
Wow! that is a great pic. Thank you so much for posting it. Yes, I agree..... I think both of mine are female
I love them both, but was so hoping for a boy!
I appreciate the pic since it shows the obvious difference from boy to girl peafowl. It will help me out tons in the future too!
Thanks!
Thanks so much everyone!!
I am so excited about this little guy!
I didn't realize i could mate him with our others to make more whites! Super fun! (hoping he is actually a HE)
I will continue to post pics to get advise on sex of this little fella.
I agree its hard to find peachicks around...
