Coloring looks nice, especially on the breast and neck. Healthy and happy is good.
Mine are still a little dark, waiting for the patern to be more uniform.
Here are my four GLWs. They are 9.5 weeks old and are all a little different. Two are more golden, two darker two long tails, two short. But at this point I "think" they are all pullets.
This is Roy, he is darker with a very long black tail. I thought for the longest time she was a he (hence...
Don't know what the chances are, but thought I would toss it out here... looking for 1 or 2 more GLW pullets. I lost one weeks ago to illness, and then lost a BO today who got caught in the fencing. So I have room for a couple more in my flock. All of the others are 8 weeks old, so would want...
Is there an age where it becomes obvious? I'll try to get some pics showing wings tails combs etc. I have 4 and only one has the short tail two are dark, two are light and the one with the redder comb also has light feathering and a long tail.
. Is that the case for all GLW? I am having a hard time telling on these. I ordered pullets and they may all be, but there are some variances the biggest now is in the tails.
Finally got some better pics of my GLW. The pics still don't capture how pretty their feathers are. Almost like a pheasant.
strutting' my stuff
I know I missed the picture, but got the neck feathers.
. This one is a little darker.
Flash and shine!
Wing feathers.
What are the variances I should start seeing between pullet and cockerel development for GLW? I have 4 and so far they are all very similar. One seems to be darker overall but the comb is small and pale.
The other three have exactly the same coloring but one has a slightly broader comb that...
Get ready, they grow quick. Got mine from Cackle 5 weeks old today and they are great, one has become very curious the last few days and like to come out of the brooder and see what is going on when I feed them. Enjoy.
Nope they've all stayed warm and dry. Saturday night was the first time I noticed her behaving differently and separated her out Sunday morning. Thanks
Up with the chick at midnight she was drinking some but not eating. When I got up at 6 she had died. Observed the rest of the flock for an hour this AM everyone else looks normal. Should I give an antibiotic as a precaution or just monitor? Thanks
Need help, one of my GLW girls is sick. I noticed last night she was not as active, and this morning all puffed up like she is cold.
Here are some pics.
She is acting like she is cold even though in front of the light. She ate this morning and ate some from my hand this afternoon. First...
Got my new chicks a few weeks ago. Picked GLW as one of the breeds in the flock based on the pictures and comments here on BYC.
Here is when we first got home
And now here is last week
Love the color coming in on their little wings.
Finally, here is a pic from last night...
