    MALLARD THREAD...not rouens, Mallards!

This is from the same place as i posted before in this thread. There is kinda a dilemma with these ducks - they want them gone and feeding them is not allowed. They put up a sign in the middle of the winter with the message that feeding is not allowed in hope that the ducks would "fly away"...

If im understanding it correctly a female with intersex stops laying eggs (?) Not 100% sure but that is what says on some places on the internet.

Good questions. I found this: "I won't go in to much detail about what intersex means (mainly because I am not competent to do so) but with birds (and presumably many other life-forms) it's basically when a female bird begins to develop male features. I understand that this effects the...

I knew this comment would come lol. But nope he is not. First of all the picture is taken some days ago, and right now there is winter in sweden and that means that the wild birds are not changing feathers. Ducks have their most perfect feathers in the winter and this is not his eclipse...

Exactly, i know they can not be proved to be pure and i dont disagree with that. The thing i disagree with is the call duck "shapes" more :)

Yeah, sick how some of people KNOW that their ducks are mix breeds but still sells them as pure. Makes me mad.

Malllaaarddsssss (there is a debate about these mallards atm, its forbidden to feed them but most of them are from farms that breed mallards for hunting. We have problem with people buying eggs from mallards from other warmer countries and that messes up how far they move in the winter etc)...

    MALLARD THREAD...not rouens, Mallards!

Yesterday i was at a friends farm to get som real wild mallards. He has 3 big ponds with mallards, other wild ducks and wild geese, the mallards are freeflying wild mallads. I got 3 pairs, they are very wild, but i bet i can get them tame, just like my mandarin ducks.
