I guess - in my personal opinion - they went HIGH. Guieneas were going well over 25$ per bird (I think maybe only one cage went under that price)... Roosters were not a hot item, $1-4 per bird altho a cage of two Buff Orphington Roos went for $14 per bird...hens were high. $20 for Americana hen...

What was everyone's thoughts on the sale at New Salem yesterday??? I hadn't been to one in probably 10+ years - curious to think what other's thought of prices. Did you bring anything to the sale; and did you bring anything home!!?

Yeah, I'll probably head up. I have a new batch of egg layers that are going to be introduced to the flock (they are just itty-bitties right now) so I might go thru and cull out a few of my bossy hens and maybe a few that aren't as efficient as these new ones will be. I love my EE pullets but...

THANK YOU! Yeah - they were just little semi-transparent crawlers. With a little brown spot on the middle of their body. So lice/mites/whatever... not supposed to be there. I haven't had any problems in the past - The birds are free-rangers but since we have taken a plunge in temps and covered...

I had the unfortunate passing of one of my chickens today and I noticed he had some little buddies crawling on him. I'm assuming it's an "if one has they...

Wonderful looking birds. Do you find that you have any problems listed that come along with that breed? (more susceptible to mites/lice and clogged vent feathers, specifically) It's hard to know how more hands-on some birds are when you read the breed reviews b/c some owners are more critical...
