That's great to know! Of course, at a higher price than before, which we all knew would happen when the government decided to ban them. And I'm sure they still burn out just as fast, but at least it's nice to be able to get some somewhere.

I have faced up to the fact that I have hatched out too many chicks this year. (And bought too many :oops:) I have about 15 Black Langshans overcrowding my grow out pen that I can't seem to move and 8 turkey poults outgrowing my brooder that need the grow out pen. But I can't turn my incubator...
I posted my little yellow poult in the turkey thread, not here. The other egg didn't hatch, and it was a Sweetgrass! :hit
Anyway, its chicken mentors must be doing their job right. It's 3 days old, and has mastered the feeder and the nipple drinker.
Yes, that is a four week old rooster...
At least it would be better than waiting 14 days to set eggs.

I had two batches hatch while BYC was down. 11 chicks from 12 that made it to lockdown (from 14 fertile) the first weekend, and then 4 chicks from 4 in lockdown from 6 fertile hatched on Mother's Day. My next batch due this weekend only has one fertile egg. :( I sat 9 eggs, but those hens must...
No- this is genius! Let him lull her into a false sense of security. After she realizes all that empty space makes her itch to set more eggs, then we encourage her to go for it! I think he's just being sneaky...

And you have been given good advice. That link ought to be real helpful. I don't know about duck incubating, but I know that having too high humidity during incubation can kill chickens...
