Out of control ammo prices and scarcity are more reasons I shoot air guns. I can make ammo for almost all of my airguns at home without cases, powder, or primers. It allow me to conserve firearm ammo for a rainy day.

The trigger isn’t what keeps the power constant. The Marauder did have a great factory trigger. But the power level is a function of air pressure and how the hammer and valve interact. Usually that results in a bell curve of power/velocity levels that start low, rise, and fall again after...

My two cents on that is that airguns have been around for several centuries. Lewis and Clark had a big bore PCP they took with them on their expedition. Only materials and designs have changed recently. And Youtube has made them very popular. Regulators are usually wary of high-powered PCPs...

I have a compressor that I hook the guns up to. But should I lose access to electricity, I have a carbon fiber firefighter tank I keep filled that could service several guns for a few reloads each and I also have hand pumps.

No, it stays on. Some guns are made so that the tank cannot be removed while pressurized. Others allow for detachable tanks so as to allow for tanks to be switched out in the field.

I have PCPs in .177, .22, .25, .300, ,308, .357, and .45. .25 is by far the most versatile. Now in Florida, to deer hunt with an airgun the caliber had to be .30 or above. So I often carry my .300 or .308 afield as it allows me to legal harvest anything I may come across in the proper season...

So in accordance to the above where I read your post too fast, are you saying that you don't have a power limit, but the speed has to be under 500fps?

Edit: I read your post too fast. I see your already know what the kinds of airguns are. But I'll leave the reference for others. First, understand that there are different kinds of airguns that are classified based on how they power the shot. You know what a pumper is, that's one that has an...

I got a new airgun. Same model as my .308 but its in .357. From left to right are all airgun projectiles. .25 at 38 grains, .308 at 98 grains, .357 at 81 grains (the ballistic tipped pellet), .357 at 93 grains, and .45 at I think 300 grains but maybe heavier, I’ll have to find the box.

I have a decent firearm collection for defense and hunting. But the last decade I got more into high-powered airguns. I even learned how to smith them (called "tuning" in the airgun world). I prefer the airguns for hunting because 1) they can be suppressed without a stamp and 2) they need much...
