Very cute Zerinala!
Here are my recently hatched 5 Orpington chicks with their mums (you can only see 4 chicks in the photo). They are sharing a playpen in the house, while I wait for their proper nursery to be built. I gave them watermelon and they loved it! The other dish has mashed boiled egg...
I agree. I went over to my neighbour next door and apologised intensely for the noise my hen was making. I was surprised when she said to me: "Noise? What noise? I don't hear anything!"
Ha ha. I thought I was the only one with a noisy hen! Lucy, my buff Orpington, screams so loud with her egg song, we can hear her blocks away!
I'm not sure about noise insulation, maybe others can help.
SO EXCITED today! I wasn't very hopeful about the eggs under my 2 broody Orpingtons. I was hoping they were going to hatch yesterday and there was no chipping, nothing.
Well, today at 1.30pm, I lifted the skirt of Milly to see 2 eggs with tiny cracks on them. I checked now (4.30pm) and one...
Good mention! I am bought 2 new additions to my flock of Orpingtons and 2 hens developed a respiratory disease. Took them to the vet and he said it could have been that the birds had different immune systems. Had to give the ladies antibiotics. They are on the mend now.
Poor Wilmy. I feel for you, SydneyChickens.
It probably won't make you feel any better, but it's nice to know she had a nice day in the sun with you before her departure.
Sending you my commiserations.
Hi Chicken Obsessed,
I love the blue colour you have on your run/fence. It's gorgeous! Did you do it yourself?
I'm new to Backyard Chickens. Joined today! I live in Victoria.
My partner and I moved to a new house 3 months ago, so we are trying to make a new run/coop for our girls.
Are there...
