I thought I had an egg eater but I think based on all the nice eggs I am getting right now, those were accidental breakage... I got one hen I know keeps trying to brood. Here's she.

Well happy news for me, I was double checking the current rules for my area on flock size and there has been some changes in my favor... one reason I started with just two birds was to deal with the codes and allow me to add a few years latter. So now I can rethink my plans... :celebrate

I would order hatching eggs, but hubby would get to high strung worried about them being boys... so study study sexing of mutiple breeds so I can get something other than EEs. I agree a cross to the EEs would make for some nice chicks, I think it would improve feather quality and size, though...

Holy Guacomole Batman! They may as well be some super exotic hard to get smuggled in breed. $152.00! On the egg shape, those remind me off my Dark EEs egg shape, she lays blue but a rounder egg compared to the other EE. I think crossing her with a D.C. would make a nice mutt.

When I built the pen area I also wanted to not have a muddy pen, did that slogged through that with the big flock, I also wanted to be a little more secure having come home to carnage in the past... so I did my best to level out an area in my yard that already had a fence around it, laid out...

I plan to try that if I botch the sexing when I get the next batch of chicks. I think I will order one as part of the prepping for chicks to be on the safe side. Just to have... you guys have no idea how badly I stare at the town flock of roosters, gorgeous roosters, tons of different breeds...

Yeah I could cull of course, or release (my village protects the roosters released in our town, we have special laws, but the county refuses to allow us to keep them personally, but as a community we can have park roosters... government logic, we even celebrate chickens here...

Well I just like chickens too every breed has something I like. I once had a pretty good number of birds mix flock of breeds years ago, pre-forum days. But for along time where I live now chickens were a no no... but I missed them and decided to just start learning more at my own pace on the...
