I still don't know, but I thought Doms were not supposed to be barred, but Cuckoo. Need all the help I can get.

Thanks for the info. I thought about the stray egg, but I would think that a BR pullet, would "look" different than her "littermates". Larger specifically, but who knows with hatcheries.

Started looking closer at combs last week. Looky at what I found on top of one of my Meyer pullets. Theories as to origin are welcome. She is quite a bit behind the others in maturing. My first guess would be BR genes.

    Dominique Thread!

I looked way back in my phone and found a couple pics of mostly Doms. I realize now, that the leader of the pack was a little rooster. I wasn't worried about sexing them then, since I had ordered six pullets. This is at 5 weeks old in their new tractor. He turned into the cockerel I posted for...

T Thank you for your time and the tips. I have contacted a couple Java breeders and got no response. It is my understanding that most any breeder with years or decades invested in their flocks are not about to let any ole Joe have them, and I don't blame them one bit. I am content...

Thank you for reminding me. I have their site bookmarked, just been too busy to do my duty. You have described my startup plans well. I still am lacking in infrastructure, not to mention knowledge, to get too serious. I do hate to be limited to one Dom. cock however. I am only a couple hours...

Does anyone have a review of Sand Hills Doms? I've been contemplating an order for Javas, but need 15 of other breeds to fill the min. order.

Thanks. I knew 3 was out. 1 I thought cute, but too large. I'm assuming fingers are the protrusions. I have lots of study to do. I will get better pics of #2, and a couple others not here. I think I've seen a keeper somewhere. I hope to become picky, but my options are limited right now. I am...

Thank you for your help. My pullets have good combs I think, so hopefully they will turn out some proper combs on their male offspring.

Hi folks. A new chicken farmer here. I have 5 breeds (so far), and Doms are my favs. This fellow was a Meyer mistake- I ordered all pullets- but I'm glad he lost his way. He is 21 weeks old, and I'm looking for some hard critiqueing as to the standard, primarily do start developing my "eye" for...
