kind of boring here in Canada now the snow is flying. However I do have a few spaghetti squash at the barn yet and they were happy to see those. I give them scratch every day but they do like variety. If I get industrious tomorrow....I might cook them some rice.....they get real excited...
my girls and roo are getting strawberry stems and left over mushy berries since they are in season here in Canada. they really enjoy them.....and listening to the rooster calling the girls asap when it hits the ground....lol they really are silly chickens!
i gave my girls some left over mashed potatoes and cream corn on top of some long grain rice I had cooked for them. Then just to help out a bit more....I had a cup of sour cream with taco powder mixed in that was past its date. Mix this all together ....and we have a wonderful chicken...

i cooked some rice today for them and mixed in some cottage cheese, they were very excited. I also gave them a small pumpkin cut in pieces and the seeds were gone before I turned my back.....lol.
Glad I only had a few sunflowers survive this summer in the garden. I wanted a whole row so I could give them to my girls as a treat. I gave them a large sunflower head this morning.....hum.....I thought they would be so excited. Apparently it does not interest them...so I am back to giving...

my hens got watermelon rind today......all heads were down and all bums were up....lol the chicks got some cubed bread....let the keep away games begin.....
my girls had a spaghetti squash cut in half....they go wild for the guts and seeds. After a few hours I use a fork and scrape up the flesh a bit more and they go wild again. The half cabbage in their pen is taking a while to eat but they do peck at it.
