I have bantams, my small coops are raised off ground by about 2 feet, but I used 1/2 x 1 inch wire mesh. Most poop drops through so very little cleaning in coop. The girls till the ground underneath where it is shaded, also helps with ventilation here in Florida. If I had LF I would not hesitate...
Want - Bantam Silkie pullet or hen. Must be from broody line as brooding will be her main purpose. I am partial to self-blue, blue, black, or splash and beards, big beards. Show Q not necessary
Close to Winter Springs.
Had hoped to meet you there. Next time we will wear a badge or something so we can find each other at some point. Yes, Craig said this was smallest show in a while because of molting and I saw a lot of cages that were no-shows. Guess they paid for a spot and then molt happened. I really enjoyed...
yes and check the mouth one in a while just to make sure about the wet pox. I have not had it this year. 2 years ago I did have a run of it, did not loose any but it sure worked me half to death taking care of them so they could eat what they needed
Hard to say for sure from the pic, but I think it may be dry fowl pox. There is also a wet pox. Check the inside of the mouth. With both types of pox, I up the protein, fruits, veggies, soak bread and crumbles in milk. Vitamins in water. If wet pox in the mouth they cannot eat enough unless you...
I do have Lavender Bantams and will be hatching both pure AMs and EEs in that color variety. I also have 2-3 Wheaten AMs that meet the standard but not really show competition quality and I sell them as backyard blue egg layers at EE prices.
will send you some pics later
Actually, I raise bantam pure Ameraucanas and I also raise bantam EEs. Have a few available that are laying. Were hatched between Feb 14 and April 29 this spring.
Also have a few pure AM chicks 3.5 weeks old right now. I am in Winter Springs
I doubt if anyone rents them. Unless you really like the skin and want it , you can just pull skin and feathers off. That is what I do because I do not care for skin anyway. Just a thought
how is everyone? especially Volusia and Flagler counties. Is there anything I could help with. I have a camper and could pitch in 2-3 days. I am very fortunate, far enough inland that it was mainly an inconvenience. My heart goes out to those who were not so lucky
Hope everyone is ready for this storm, it will be a bad one. Keep safe and protect your loved ones.
Last three days were brutal here. My wonderful daughter in law jumped in to help and my neighbors lent a helping hand with remodeling a shelving unit, moving heavy items to a spot where I could...
