Sebright's have what is called hen feathering so they feather in like a hen (no difference in saddle feathers or any of their other feathers) the only difference between hen and roo is comb (from looks) I can't really see the pictures good to be able to be of help. Combs on a roo/ cockerel(under...

WVduckchick is correct the only thing I would add is only for f1 chick's after that (f2, f3, ext)they would be all mixed up (couldn't tell sex by color, couldn't tell if you would get silvers or Goldens no matter what color you breed to.

I know what you are saying as the Hen's get older they do get a comb like your little one. A good quality sebright should have a dark redish black walnut comb. It is not uncommon for they to have red single comb (mainly hatchery stock). A pale comb can be a couple of thing's poor breeding...

At 8weeks then hen's shouldn't really have a comb yet. From what I can see you are correct both are roos. I haven't had any problems with two Sebright rooster's together. They will find their pecking order and the dominant one will be the one who crow's the most. Here is a picture of one of my...

sebright's can hold their own for the most part with larger bird's. They are tough despite their tiny size. At 4weeks old the gold one is starting to look like it's going to be a little boy. From what i can see from the pictures it is starting to get a comb. Their crow is not like any chicken I...

sebrights roos are not like most. They are hen feathered. Meaning they don't get the hackle feathers and their tails are hen like. Sexing is very hard till the combs come in. I have found the Hen's to crow more so then any other breed but not like the roo will. I have never known anyone to be...

My sultans did when I first got them. When ever I have chicks in brooder or with the hen I give vitamin supplements. With the sultans that was what they needed and started to improve everyday. I have noticed my sebrights didn't really start to perch till they were 4-5 week's with the...

I haven't experienced that with mine. Very independent but when they know I'm outside they all come running and hollering, but once they think I'm gone they are fine and go about their business. I do have two that like to be in your lap just don't touch them. All of my and my husband's...

I know what you mean. All of my feathered, fawed, and scaled friends are family not just animals. I too had belove bunnies as a child that I lost not to illness but my father. I still have flash backs of it almost 30 years later. I get all worked up when/if one is ill/hurt. But I have to stay...

It will be ok! I have 6 golden sebright 2 roos and 4 hen's. The only thing different that I do for them as chicks is crush their food for a couple of weeks. Sebright's are the only bird that I've seen brake a large dog from chasing chicken's. They realy can hold their own. I've noticed that...
