I wouldnt order from any hatchery, just my opinion. Go to the top of the page where it says Forum, then click on "But Sell Trade" and go to hatching eggs. Tons of people on here sell eggs!

Are the hen and roo related? Brother and sister? White is not fatal in silkies. We breed white to white all the time. I would guess it is something genetic.

I actually prefer no fan for hatching. Humidity seems to level out and hold better. The air movement dries up the water in the incubator and messes with my humidity level.

My silkies always start on day 19. And my incubator keeps great digital temps of 99.5- 100.3 I guess it is enough time.

So here I am a seasoned hatcher and I got my days mixed up. Thinking today was lockdown, I filled up all my water and watched humidity jump to 60%, so I picked up the first egg to make my final candle and mark aircell, and it peeped! And there was a pip hole! I quickly put it in the hatching...

I just realized this is day 20 for you. The one who pipped 1st can stay in for awhile. I have had hatches that start and last for 4 days, seen some last longer.

I wish my son, Jonathan, (12) would be more interested in the candling and hatching process, after all I keep the incubator and brooders in his bedroom. Maybe that's why he sort of takes a ho-hum attitude about it. After breaking ice and filling 7 waterers in 25° weather this week he isn't...

I have a blue cream in the chicken hospital. I do well checks 3 times a day. Noticed him first thing this morning. Everyone came out to drink and greet me, he stayed in the coop. He was back in the corner all fluffed up. Thought he might just be cold, so I kept an eye on him all day. He didnt...

My best mutt chicken hatched from a porous egg, you just never know. I also dont handle them much now. I did today to take a picture for the group. But I can candle just fine from the turner. That way I never have to touch them. I am very excited about these silvers!!!!

I dont have to worry about that as I have a cabinet and at "lockdown" my eggs come out of the turner and go into a separate area to hatch. What you can do is, most turners have a way to remove some of the turner racks. I would take out all the racks leaving just enough to hold the eggs that need...
