Hi Cyndi, I still rasie Dorkings; Silver Grey & Reds, and Silkies. I don't have any chicks for sale at this time since my hens all took time off from laying the past couple months. I'm starting to get a few eggs now and I'm incubating. I hope to have chicks available for sale by about April. I...

Darina, I think you are wise to wait until the temps have come up at night. The girls are fully feathered and should be able to stay warm at night in their coop. Its still a decision you have to be comfortable with and you are doing a great job. I've had young Silkies outside since mid-Jan and...

I purchased three white Ameraucanas straight run from Pips n Peeps and they were beautiful chicks. Two turned out to be cockerels so I advertised them on Craigslist because I had too many other cockerels. Anyways, the gal that took those two cockerels a couple years later took a beautiful...

Welcome to BYC!! I really like buying local if I can find what I’m looking for, however, I have driven to Seattle twice to pick up chicks and second time for full grown turkeys, that was a fun drive home!! Deciding which breed to start with can be a tough decision…so many choices! I started...

Beautiful girl! Thanks for posting! One of the four hatchmates (your two plus the other two I still have) turned out to be a cockerel. I was a little surprised because I was certain they were all pullets! LOL!. He's nice looking and now towers over the pullet.

I don't advertise the Dorkings very often. I sold some last year locally on Craigslist and have a few people that will check back with me this spring. I will hatch out more chicks and sell them this year, however, my focus really needs to be on my breeding stock and working towards the SOP for...

That's great Darina!! Wondering how they are doing. Fertility with my Dorkings have not been good so far this year...lots of eggs going in the incubators, however, only getting a few to hatch. I'm thinking it might be the weather? Not sure. I should be getting Red Dorking chicks in about a month...

Hi Darina, I purchased three of Mountain Man small coops ($75 ea) last year for breeding pens and I am very happy with my coops. I will likely order a larger coop from him this year when I get Red Dorkings so they are separate from my Silver Grey. Nancy

Hi Darina, I sent you an email. I love Silver Grey Dorkings. The hens look like proper country hens and the cockerels look like they're wearing black business suits. They are absolutely beautiful. Right now I have about 15 cockerels hatched last year that I have allowed to free range, so the...
