I do not think she is golden crele at all. Her whole body is chestnut with single lace through each feather that would be extremely atypical for a purebred Cream Legbar
My Crele pullet from Ruby Jolene Davis in Texas
She is not laying (7 months) Neither is Barnevelder pullet same age though
Other than being Crele, everything else about her (barring egg color since have no clue) is super super nice
Tail carriage, wing carriage, body shape, crest, personality etc...
Picture taken today of my young roo
Think he's 7 months now have to look at calendar
Pose is awkward he has smoother transitions than it appears and it's a dark rainy day so the lighting stinks his hackles are a bit lighter than looks
We ate a weeks worth of eggs today all the eggs from the older hen are mint green outside white inside
The one egg from the middle girl who just started laying is marginally less mint green slightly blue tinted but still greener than blue and blue tinted inside
My rooster is sired by the same roo as the older two girls
The lady I got those 3 from only had girls that laid blue eggs at that time and she had kept daughters who were laying
My youngest girl is from a different farm and hatched from a pale blue egg
We will be eating the eggs from the last 10...
they added the color green AFTER the Rees line was created. Green was NOT an original egg color only blue
My focus I intended to have was on pleasant natured birds with good crests that are identifiable as a legbar and lay blue eggs. I went to great lengths to get chicks from blue egg laying...
the rooster I have is from the same lines as the hens I have (the older two) and he also hatched from a very blue egg The lady I bought them from bred specifically for blue eggs never had a green egg til she bought in some new girls this year (AFTER I bought mine)
I am following the original...
No they are all A-C lines no Rees at all and all 3 hatched from blue eggs, the two currently laying hatched from as bright a blue egg you will get from a Legbar
my 22 week old hen not yet laying
my 23 week old hen and she has been laying for a bit over a week. Sadly she lays mint green eggs so I will not be hatching her eggs :(
my 12 week old Pullet
my 22 week old Rooster
I know we have had this discussion before but humor me
So far whichever girl is now laying has laid 2 eggs
Both are smaller which I expect for new layers
But the color is more green than blue in person (the photo looks bluer than they are they are sort of pale green with a blue tint)
Both...
I have never heard of doing a Cream Legbar X Wyandotte or Cream Legbar X Delaware to make sex link chicks does that even work?
