In NJ we are still lucky to be able to show. I am planning on showing my BLRW and SLW this season. I predict a lot of success with them, seeing the competition at other shows. Nobody else has such nice Wyandottes as me.
If she wants SLW, it may be worth the wait to get on Jerry Foley's list. He has some nice show quality ones, possibly the best you can buy. He starts his list in the fall, so if you can get on quickly, you will be getting chicks next spring. They are $25 each plus $55 shipping, min. order of 6.
My guess is it was a straight run. Also, vent sexing is accurate but not 100% perfect. Even if you order all pullets you may end up with a little cockerel. Happened to me before.
