7th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2016 Hatch-A-Long

And now, Texas having Tornadoes hit!  We have children and grandchildren that went there for Christmas, visiting other side of family.  They are supposed to be home Tues.  Not sure if they were near this or not..haven't heard yet!

Tornadoes and rain. I have a pen pal buddy in Von Ormy he is 92 I haven't heard from him in 3 weeks. Last letter he said he had fallen several times getting feed to his chickens. Yep still has his chickens. Started when he was very young. If I'm not mistaken he was around 10. Gosh does he have the stories. We met through a chicken magazine and he wanted letters only. No other contact. Anyways I'm getting a little concerned. I do know when holidays hit the family comes over and stays with him trying to get some of the chores done that he can't do anymore. At such time he does not write. Hope that's all it is..

Awesome.
I got my very first isabelle egg today.
Call me an optomist but that joker is going in the bator

Naw, you're a realist and it REALLY IS GONNA HATCH!
I'm glad your Isbar roosters made it.

Let's hope and pray for no tornados and that the rain goes over fast! What this storm did to Texas is devastating. OK and Mo. don't look too good either. I've often wondered if there is a reason tornado alley and the Bible belt are roughly the same area. Be safe everybody. Wild weather.

This is crazy weather everyone is having!

The egg my pigeons are sitting on seems to be doing very well, when I held it this morning I felt the baby shift inside.

Luckily I hand raised the pair that are now sitting on it so they are ok with me checking on it.

Go pigeon go. Hope you get the color you want.
Weird I never thought I'd be cheering on a pigeon. Here they cause a lot of damage on our roofs due to their droppings damming up the flashing and causing water to enter house. Flying rats we call them. Sorry. Go pigeon go. :lau

We live 1/4 mile from where the Ellis county Texas tornado hit. The damage is insane, we spent almost 24 hours with no power. Thank goodness my eggs only went about 6 hours without power, though I am still unsure how many made it that long. I will candle them later today. I hope everyone out there is safe and warm today and over the next few days as this weather passes.

Pretty well describes my neighborhood and if they don't own one they rent it.

We did not get much rain last night and it was too warm to snow as they forecasted.

Accuweather kept saying rain in so many minutes. I saw one that said rain in 3 minutes and then it said rain in 72 minutes.

The ground is wet this morning so some moisture came through in the night. No snow though. It did snow in Redding yesterday. The are at about 500fr in elevation though.
