Hey, so i have a female muscovy who had been mating before she got her wings hanging down and even letting them drag on the ground. Now she can't even walk! She drags herself to move around and eats and drinks and all. The male now limps too. I'm getting really worried. Please help!?

Separate her from the drake, and get her to a vet if you at all can.

She may be overmated, have internal injuries, she may have egg yolk peritonitis or other infection.

@Quartz Tell us more about this you say she has been mating? is there just the female and your drake? please give us a run down on your set up what you feed and have you checked the bottom of your drakes feet for bumble or splinters? A pic of video would be nice to. How long has this been going on. Does your drake abuse this female by constantly mating her?

I would consider going to the vet. Also keeping them separate and giving both a boost to digestion and energy(save-a-chick powders just to be safe) perhaps even fermented feed. What do you feed them and do you give them calcium?

Have you examined the females vent, droppings for blood, wings for broken bone or nerve damage? Pictures would help even if they are poor quality. We are here to help.

Unfortunately we don't have vets in our island. Today I noticed that the drake- Milky had been acting strange. I tried to help Chocolate move around a bit and lifted her up and once she "stood" Milky came over, hissing and pecked gently at choc's neck and started entangling his with hers and stuff. Then he came over to me as i was crouching and started poking me too (it was super ticklish) and i forgot to mention one more thing. Once, when Choc was a duckling she caught cold and started opening and closing her mouth nonstop. She recovered but continued doing that especially when scared. It's like hyperventilating. She does that all the time now.

And here's a pic (coming soon) prior to their bad condition (milk is doing fine, he limps only sometimes) yes i have observed for broken wings, legs or damaged parts, but didn't find a sign on internal damage on Choc. Or Milk. :D thanks again. Normal droppings

yeah, just Choc and Milk. They had serious issues as ducklings. One time Milky had rubber stuck in his throat as a baby, and had his head on one side and slept all the time. The next morning i tried to see if something was visible in his throat but in the struggle i think the object dislodged becz he was ok and started eating again after that. Once they also had accidentally eaten desert rose leaves (super toxic) and vomited that out ( thank god they were ok ). Excuse all these past issues. Sometimes mom got careless but now i make sure they get enough to eat and drink.
UPDATE: I also have to note that it is probably that Choc was overweight since 3 months old and maybe that is why she cannot walk.
