New coop and run post/question on fencing for chickens & cat

That's very true! Never even thought of that. Although aren't they harder to introduce? Maybe not. They are more expensive to buy and ship though right or no? I may try that if i ever want more

Yes ey are more expensive but if u go to Craigslist they have young chickens and stuff on there all the time u might be able to find some close by and pick them up so u don't have to pay for shipping and the started pullets would be any different than introduce any other chicken

That's a good idea to check Craigslist! I've heard some horror stories of sick chickens but I suppose most aren't like that or if all else fails i could even ask a family friend who has chickens if he has any extras :)

And yeah that makes sense :)

There are some horror stories on Craig's list - and some not so horrible but buyers are mislead. Sellers may claim birds are pullets and they are not. Or misrepresent the breeds.

Buyer should always beware. Other times people are able to get a flock of chickens (sellers lost interest) and they throw in the coop and feed as well. I know people have often scored low cost or even free kennel runs or fencing.

Yeah, see, that's what I'm most nervous about, that they'd be sick or not pullets. I actually hadn't even thought of the not pullet thing and wrong breed till now but now it worries me! Ha i don't care about mutts though so much, as long as it lays well (unless they are specifically advertising it as one thing or i want one thing and its not that one thing which i think is what you mean), but it can't lay well if it's a roo :p

But yeah, I've seen some great deals! I actually saw one over the summer or fall that was a coop and run and the chickens. I think they were selling the chickens first and had another post about the coop maybe cause they were still living in it but i probably could have gotten all of it. But I hsd already ordered or already had mine so couldn't though I could have built an expansion i suppose hah it was like 8 too.

But yeah, I've seen a lot of great fencing on there too
