He's beautiful. I'd like to know more about his background.

It's technically a "flaw" in a blue orpington, called red or gold leakage. Some people I believe started breeding more lacing and red into it to try to develop blue laced red. I'm just guessing on this all, but check out this guys link... He has some similar. There are some project orpington pages on byc that have similar birds too. http://www.naturalark.com/engorps.html I could never show him because of his color flaws, but he is very handsome.

Yeah I'm just starting in English Orpingtons but I've never seen so much red leakage. I was actually thinking that he looked like an attempt at blue laced red.

I'm switching from English to American so I stand better chances at shows. It was a lot of leakage, but the person I got it from likely won't have been trying to create red laced, but you never know!

This picture is not for the contest it's for chickendreams... This is probably one of the most beautiful English splash hens I have ever seen, and I raised her from an egg!

Thank you, he is my naughty boy, lol but he is very good with the hens. My mother loves him, she grew up around chickens and she just loves the welsummer breed in general. I had a few roosters to choose from for breeding and she picked him out.
