Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

This may seem obvious, but my husband and I disagree about the sex of this one. Saddle feathers are starting to come in thin and pointy, never mind the waddles. It's just about 4 months old. Part of the problem is the crowing. One of us thinks roo, the other a crowing hen. Any help?
Absolutely a cockerel. Pullets never have saddle feathers, and they do not crow.

A dominant, older hen may crow; but on a 4 month old bird, with very clearly visible male feathering, it's a boy. Pullets will never have those feathers, ever.

Any idea guesses on bantams gender or corrections of what I believe are pullets also anyone have any guess of what other bantam my Japanese mix is all I know is it's supposed to be a true bantam breed

I've read some where that hens will crow if they don't have a roo, but I assumed that took longer to start, like well after a year old. I've had suspicions since about 3 weeks old, even posted picks then. Got both sexes as answers. The saddle feathers really just started clearly coming in this week. Thanks guys!!

[/IMG]10 week old easter egger. We thought a boy because of size but it is not getting any distinctive tall feathers and it is at the bottom of the peeking order in the coop.

That's not an Easter Egger. That's a Dixie Rainbow/Pioneer, probably a cockerel. Too much comb and wattle development for a pullet, too early; and male specific feathering is just beginning to develop at 10 weeks. It can take a couple weeks for those feathers to be clearly visible.
