Does my dog have rabies?

I have a two year old German shepard.She is sweet,but gets into trouble.

I had noticed she just all of a sudden started acting nervous around us,and she became scared and stubborn.She also was foaming at the mouth (Read those were all symptoms of RABIES).

Something she does do is frog catch.And I know frogs make dogs foam.But,she started foaming this morning and hadn't been up to the pond?I haven't found any bite marks on her,so chances are it's something else,or maybe she is just sick in the stomach?

I should also mention she wouldn't came in at night (That's when I notice something was up).Buts he is nervous anytime me and my grandma go to get here (we doctor on her together sometimes and she hates it.)But,if she isn't feeling trapped,she is happy,sweet dog.
 
this is a "take your dog to the vet now" question

IF she has been properly vaccinated for rabies (once as a puppy, a booster 1 year later and boostered as your state requires) then she would be highly unlikely to have rabies

Toads can make dogs very frothy and ill but if she is not properly vaccinated for rabies anything is possible. Rabies is fatal to all exposed so there is no fooling around. Take her in to vet to be checked. Could just be she is sick but things like this are not a forum question but a "I am on my way to the vet now" thing
 
I agree with the above poster. Definitely take the dog in for a checkup if you are concerned about rabies as this virus lives in the saliva and can be quite easily transmissible. It only takes ten days for humans to show signs and then it is too late for them.

Otherwise, you should at least bring your dog in for a rabies shot. If she has not had one in over a year, she may need to be boostered (some states allow three years between shots and others only one) often there are free or low cost clinics that you can ask your local pet stores and shelters about. Sometimes the municipal buildings of your town will also do it for free. I cannot emphasize the importance of this enough. Dogs are very highly susceptible to rabies and once they have it, they must be euthanized. Even if they don't have it but show signs or even bite someone, they must be quarantined for an extended time.
 
1) hopefully she is already up to date on her rabies vaccines
2) there are numerous things that can show as foaming - toads, frogs, spiders, bees, other bugs, plants, poisons, etc etc
3) coming into contact with any animal that potentially has rabies requires that all humans who have come into contact with her are going to need to have rabies shots themselves.
4)you need to work with a trainer. there is no reason that your dog should not come to you. it doesn't matter if sometimes you have to doctor her.
 
This is nit the first tine shes done this.Once my grandma left she came in.I just dont see how she would have caught it without getting bit.Ut isnt contagious unless your bitten.
 
Oh yeah sorry.As a puppy im pretty sure she had gotten vacinated.But that was 2 years ago.
