My Coop Design.... many flaws

So I wanted to build a chicken coop that was both functional and one that would last well needless to say throughout the entire construction process I found many things that I would do different but I suppose that's with just about every design.

Once done this Coupe is designed to be elevated off the ground using treated 4x4 posts to allow a chicken run underneath the building and also to an exterior fence in Chicken Run.

Nesting boxes will be installed on the outside walls looking back I should have made the walls taller so that the nesting boxes would be elevated further off the ground. Any feedback would be greatly in kindly appreciated.

Ah, yes, the joy (not so much with large projects such as this) of hindsight - have been there myself more htan a few times.

It may be that it is just not shown in the photos - what is the ventilation for the coop? What are the dimensions?

Ventilation is one of my many flaws! I had to install a ridge cap vent aa I didn't take into consideration how sealed up it would be. Its actually 4 feet wide x 8 feet long x 42" tall. I have room for either 8 large nesting boxes or 16 that are 12" wide.

I drug my feet and the brooder was just too cold for the chics so we had to move the coop in the garage before I had the nesting boxes on. Only way to keep them warm enough was to take them out of the brooder and put them in the coop :-(
 
Hi nice job. I agree with more ventilation and u really don't need that many nest boxes. With a 4x8 coop u shouldn't have more than 8 large fowl hens as u don't want them to be so crowded. I would think 3 boxes would be plenty as they usually share the boxes. I have 6 boxes with 11 hens now and 7 more hens this spring
