I have three Muscovy females that seem to be sitting on their eggs .... for the most part. Do they get on and off their eggs throughout the day? One next has quite a few feathers that have been pulled out. I think they have been trying to sit since Tuesday, but I have seen them off of the nests several times. Once they are born, I will move them into an area where the male cannot get to them. Do I need to do anything else? We are so excited. Of course, I have no idea of what I will do with all of these ducks! Does anyone want to trade pullets for ducklings????? or bees?????? I have two empty beehives!

:pThanks!

I wish I had a Scovie .. or three.. or seven.... lol. Im not sure, but all my ducks get on and off the nest till they are ready to seriously set with the eggs they have.

My duck started setting after laying 6 eggs, then added a 7th at some point. She gets off the nest maybe once a day to eat and drink and um... relieve herself in one huge splat away from the nest. Once in two weeks she got up for 20 minutes and went swimming.

Hmmm. I guess they are setting the eggs then. Hopefully in a month we will have several duckings ............ to find homes for!

Yes, or trade for pullets/hens. I am a little low on the hen side of things! Thank goodness my ducks have supplied up with lots of eggs!

Your location might be helpful!

One of ours just had ducklings and another is sitting now. Took over a month for one of them to hatch out 15 ducklings. Read that it was supposed to take 28 days, I think she took like 37!

You just made it so much harder for me not to get scovies.
Im in the troy montgomery area, and i might just have to get some from you! I dont have anything to trade unless you would like some mutt ducklings, but how much would you sell them for a peice? and are you able to sex them?

I two broody muscovies get of their nest only once a day from what i can see. They eat drink, poop and get right back on. If the drake is close enough he breeds them real quick. One is in a zen like syate on her nest and the other one qucks when we get to close. I will sellmine at the auction , keep a few and maybe sell some for 5$ a piece or 5 for 20$
