Maybe try putting a little mirror in there with her so it looks like there are more of her, as well as the suggestion of a stuffed animal.  :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SPHINX!!!  woot.gif The day is almost over, but better late than never.  wink.png

 

We had new carpet installed in the family room today.  It's a big room, and I wanted to paint before the new carpet was put in, so I painted all day yesterday, moved the cichlids out of the 120 gallon (from the family room) and set up & put them in the 80 gallon in the dining room, but it was worth it!  After we get the baseboard installed, I'll take pictures.

In chicken news, my little 5 week old EE roo tried to crow for the first time today!  He sure made me laugh, but he thought he was hot stuff!  LOL

Sasha, no way? 5 weeks old and he's already a macho man? That's too cute. Yes, that would be fun to see how your front room is turning out!

BAD!  No pips this morning, at all, not one..so I know what that usually means.   Yep, that gobbledy goop sutff!  I don't understand why that happens.  I am one to incubate with the lower humidity.  Anyway, I opened one to see, it was alive, but could see the thick goop.  I wet the whole membrane down, found the neck, and hurried and pulled the neck out...lots of goop!  It was swallowing, which means two things..one, yes, a lot of fluid..and two, a good thing because it isn't breathing that down.  I hurried and cleaned it's nose/beak.  Hurried it back to the bator.  I knew I had to try and save the rest.  4 were already dead.  I got 9 of them out, with just their heads out, one didn't make it.  The others, are laying there breathing...there were actually a couple that had pipped internally, but had the goop all around it, thick!  It would have died making the turn, turning into that thick stuff, would have drowned.  It's just hanging out in the shell peeping away, a great sound/sign.  I think I only see two blues!  All the ones that died were black..what's up with that?  Last time they were mostly blue..well, can't tell yet.  Will see when I finally get them out.  This is going to be a long day.  Pray that they make it..I'm so glad I decided to go in and check one, none would have made it.  None.

My lone baby is doing ok. Settled down.
Cynthia--so sad! I hope they are ok....so far I have just been doing dry incubation, no water until lockdown then cranking it up to 75+. Hoping that works ok, I used the chooks chick incubation cheat sheet.... but I still had one drown last time, it pipped upside down and there was some of that slime in there. I worry this might happen to me with the big big eggs from Idaho.....so I am glad you post on here what you are doing, it helps a lot to show what to do. Praying for yours, praying like crazy! fl.gif It is awful to open them up and see that they made it all the way to the end then pooped out. Awful feeling, like so so so close.....I feel for you hugs.gif
