This is similar to the one I'm building at the moment. Here's a phot to give you the flavour.

Txchickie, wasnt that an awesome site, showing step by step on the pallets!!! Im a visual person, and I like to see them before I work so I know what and how I want to do it.

but the coop at the bottom of this page, I love the containment...but the coop is too small for me....now the run on this coop awesome...but I think I would attach it to the first structure he built on this page...and just leae it open some...I like BIG!!!!

Means more CHICKENS!!!! and yes, I agree...pallets are always FREE all over even people on CL trying to get rid of them. And you know there strong and sturdy!!!

Chicken wire will not keep coons out. They will tear it apart. One large one here tore apart a catch-and-release trap. Better safe than sorry later. Pallets are great and are free everywhere if you look good. Look for welded wire or chain link at Habitat stores, goodwill, etc. Look for tear downs to do for the materials. Place an ad on Craigslist.

Love the chicken coop you made... I want to build something similar but with rough cut hemlock that my dad and I are sawing with his sawmill... Thanks for the great idea

You can check out this video of someone else's coops under 15 dollars (she got free lumber from craigslist!) Here it is:

I hope this helps!
