Jim.  Sorry it took so long to respond, you must have posted while all the alerts were down.  lol.  I got a picture of one of our original blue red cubies.  She's not the greatest, and she's really old lol.  She was also running past me to try to get the prime dust bathing spot at the time...lol :)

I'll try to get a picture of the whites next weekend.  They were really agitated this time and not cooperating with photos.  They're still adjusting to their new home :)

And just for fun, pretty sure this guy is 1/2 cubalaya, and his mom was a cochin/silkie.  Just posting cuz someone else posted their crossbreed :D  He's from our original blue red cubalaya cock.

Though I was impressed with my handsome half cubalaya mutt, he is going to a new home this week.  I want pure babies! MN Shepherdess, your guy got a gorgeous tail and hackles! His red shoulder patch is interesting.

Yeah, everyone of the crossbred roosters that he fathered had super nice saddle feathers.  :)   Love his cute little blue feathered feet too :) lol

i have a little jimzook blood from the birds that i got from gallorojo but not in my whites. i have a small black feathered hen that only has a few brown feathers under her beak and has a nice full tail. i am crossing her to some blacks that i got from saladin and hoping for some extra nice black cubalaya.

Is there an ideal number of feathers a hen or pullet should possess in her tail?
