Can Silver Pheasant be free range with chickens?

Hi, I rescued a male silver pheasant. Has anyone had any luck in letting a pheasant free range? I have 11 chickens who are free range, and they roost in the barn at night. Would a pheasant stay with them or would he most likely take off? Thanks for any information.

You are a ZAA member also so you know they are trying to do that now. well trying to make it against the law to own any kind of exotics and so on.

The exotic pet trade is probably one of the most profitable businesses in the US and generates billions. Parakeets, cockatiels, tropical fish, etc... all are part of that industry. I can understand banning or permiting a chimpanzee or tiger, but leave the other things along. If the idiots ever pass some retarded bill such as that I will leave this country in all honesty. Exotics are many of our lives, and what would life be without being able to own or breed what we love? It's really up to us to prevent such a thing from happening, we have to stand up and reject it and not vote for the fools are all for that sort of thing.
 
I don't let my pheasants free range because I have lost birds to foxes and mountain lions before I started putting the free ranging birds (I have helmeted and vulturine guineas as well as some chickens) in the barn at night, but I know a couple of people who let their male silvers free range. I have asked about them just flying away and they tell me they are territorial for a food source and females so they wont leave as long as they know where the food is and it stays in the same place. I have a single male that is very tame, he will let you pet him and takes food right out of your hands. He doesn't like to be picked up and he can be mean, if he doesn't like something you are doing he will bite or try to kick you, and I let him out sometimes during the days if I am home. He just stays around the pens, but I don't do it regularly because I am afraid if he doesn't stay close and I can't find him he will get eaten.
 
hello, so I noticed you said you have vulturine guineas and other guineas. I have 7 grey pearl guineas, after mastering these guys I am interested in the vulturine. I have been trying to find out if they co exist together. Do your vultuine hang out with your guinea fowl? coop up/patrol the yard? Thanks
