Ditto! Which just backs up my urge to lock down duckies tomorrow instead of Sunday!

I did a mass candling earlier, which is why I'm up so late. Takes a while to candle 84 eggs.

I have:

2 questionable BEI's. Can't see well enough to assess. idunno.gif 4/11 hatch

3 BEI's with wonky air cells, but babies are moving energetically. fl.gif 4/11 hatch

1 runner duck quitter. hit.gif 4/11 hatch

2 rouens with wonky air cells, but babies are moving energetically. fl.gif 4/17 hatch

3 Saxonies with really wonky air cells, but also moving energetically. fl.gif 4/17 hatch

1 Welsh Harlquin blood ring hit.gif 4/20 hatch

4 Penciled Runners with wonky air cells, moving well.  fl.gif 4/17 hatch

Now for the less worrisome news:

4 Silkie ducks with different hatch days, all alive and active. celebrate.gif 4/11 (1) 4/17 (2) 4/20 (1)

4 Welsh Harlequins looking good. celebrate.gif4/20 hatch

5 Rouens looking good. celebrate.gif 4/17 hatch

4 Penciled Runners looking good. celebrate.gif 4/17 hatch

8 mixed Runners looking good. celebrate.gif 4/17 hatch

4 Saxonies looking good. celebrate.gif 4/17 hatch

18 mixed Runners looking good. celebrate.gif 4/11 hatch

5 BEI's looking good. celebrate.gif 4/11 hatch

And the best news of all...

2 surprise Goose eggs looking good! wee.gif4/11 hatch

and...

11 of 12 eggs from my flock.... FERTILE!!! ya.gifcelebrate.gifwee.gif 4/23 hatch

ep.gif  Wow....the 17th is gonna be a busy day for you!  I have eggs due then, too....but not as many as that!

Now that's a nice ratio of males to females!  You will have a nice flock of Marans!

Your pretty far away, I may just have to wait two years for your eggs. Those people never get back to me about the dewlaps, so I fiinally gave up on them.

I'm glad its pipped, hopefully some others follow suit real soon!

Where Julie? Any between us?

There's a bunch of poultry shows in Sedalia each year. I loved going to the state fair when I was a kid, I'd spend the whole day wandering through the poultry barn and horse barns. There are big swaps/auctions in kingsville, jacob's cave, gardner, and yates center. Smaller one's around too, there's one by st jo soon and I see others quite often.  I'd love to go to one, but would have to leave all my money at home so I don't bring anything home with me, lol.

Dutch, I am pretty excited about the dewlaps!  Can't wait for my 1st set of buff dewlap babies to hatch in about 10 days.

On a different note, how's your horse doing?? fl.gif

Marty, we keep bouncing back and forth on hatching threads.  Just posted a message about Erin's egg.  I think we should assess situation and strategize on what to do.

My menagerie includes 5 horses, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 32 geese (dewlap toulouse & african) and 10 ducks (muscovy, ancona, cayuga & silver appleyard).

thanks all, it was pretty exciting, most of them will be mutts but i have the chance for pure cayugas or black runners. i'm hoping a few have a good amount of white from the pekins to diversify the look of my flock abit. our pekins are the friendliest too so i want some of their genes in the pool

a beagle, 2 terrier mutts, 2 road island reds, barred rock, white rock, Gold laced wyandotte, easter egger, 2 light brahmas, buff orpington, black astralorp, dekalb amberlink, plus 2 pekins, 3 cayugas(2are crested), 5 black runners.

Pitiful...feel so bad he's in such pain.  But he gets around.  I let him out for grazing during the day, then lock him up at night.  He spends most of the night laying down, which is good rest for his foot.  I changed his dressing last night at feeding time, and there is pink flesh and granulation happening....but it's going to be quite awhile before the wound fills in, it's so deep.  You know a would like that gets really ugly before it gets better...sad.png

Got my fingers crossed your dewlaps hatch alright!  fl.gif  I want a pair of the grays, dangit!

I use homeopathic methods for healing, unless I need a vet, and then I always call him.  That said, your horse may be at a place where a nice potato poltace may releave some discomforts by removing any lingering infected tissues.  It seems like at this stage, it has some benefits.  I use it for a number of instances (even w/poultry, plus dogs, goats, people....) when a wound is hard to heal, or seems rather inflamed still.  It won't hurt anything, and may help out.  If you want to, PM me.  Or there are instructions on the thread "Mildred Ninja duck"

Why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

Why is there brail at drive up ATMs??

Why are their floatation devices instead of parachutes in my airplain seat???

If a tree falls in the woods and my husband doesn't hear it, am I still wrong????
