Our city council just voted no on a proposed 6 hen ordinance.
I'm wondering how ordinances that have passed in other communities around the country are working out.
A few questions for communities that have chicken laws:
- Are there many complaints in your community about the smell, noise, or unsightliness?
- Have property values gone down because of chickens nearby?
- Has the city had to spend much time policing poorly maintained coops?
I'm guessing that all the fears that our council members have are unsubstantiated.
