šŸ£šŸ„Black Copper Marans and Whiting True Blues. Lots of videosšŸŽ„

The coop/run I am building is similar to the ones in these photos. Iā€™m trying to keep it as simple as possible with the least amount of parts and labor.
Let me ask this questionā€¦ why is there a floor on the coop part of these tractors and most coops I see online? I would prefer to not have a floor and just have the roosts and nest boxes inside the covered coop/sleeping area. That way the chickens can just poop on the ground/leaves/bedding. Are the floors to keep in warmth? Here in Texas I donā€™t know if thatā€™s needed.

Keeps the diggers out of the coop. Your chickens are much safer.

Oh it's all open? No coop to lock up at night on the inside of tractor?
Is there danger if they have access to the run at night as long as itā€™s secure? I just donā€™t see a reason to put a divider between the run and coop/roosts. Wonā€™t they be fine with 3 sides covered and elevated roosts of the ground?

If it's 24/7 access to the ground I would be worried about diggers getting in. Foxes, bobcats, dogs, skunks, coons, weasels, rats etc. but I've heard of people putting a predator apron attached to bottom laying outward a foot or 2 to prevent predators.
Sorry I can't be too much help. I don't know too much about the tractors per se. It's nice looking tho.

Ok I searched for chicken hoop house and they have some examples where the roosts are elevated but itā€™s open from the front and no flooring under the roosts.
