A little silkied Black Cochin bantam hatched around 2am last night, bringing me up to two babies. Looks like the other two Cochin eggs quit on me, though, so I guess my Easter hatchalong curse continues. At least I don't have a loner this time!

My EHAL hatches are usually a wildcard also. I blame our temperature, humidity, and weather swings this time of year. I suspect that the constant change in barometric pressure messes with them. Just my speculation though...

Woke up to a White Leghorn hatched & another trying to kool-aid man it’s way out
All other babies are still doing well in the brooder & with mama

Quail started hatching yesterday! We got 14 yesterday and so far another 14 this morning. The crazy thing is I rescued some button quail eggs after my broody hen abandoned them (some eggs hatched into chicks and she moved nests). I rigged them up in a DIY incubator with a plastic cup, sponge and heat lamp for 2 days because the incubator was in lockdown and there were pips. Yesterday night I slipped them in while taking chicks out and this morning 2 of them are hatching! Crazy that they survived all that.
