2013 Sebastopol Breeding/Gosling Thread

Beautiful! I have a couple that look so very similar INCLUDING the V-neck sweaters. What's up with that????? Do you think they will fill in or is that pattern "set" ???
Heads and overall chunky oval type looking really NICE on your babies. Whose the parents?

In my experience they usually fill in at least with furrowing.
I had a gosling from last year that had a smooth upper breast and paunch
but this year shes developed longer curly feathers in those areas.
That's not to say all will do that but if their parents have curly breasts
there is potential for them to fill in the smooth upper breasts and v-necks
as yearlings or even 2 year olds.
Dave Holderread said Sebastopols continue to develop feather wise for up to 3 years
but of course you can't expect a predominantly smooth bird go from smooth to curly.
They may very well develop longer feathers on their backs and upper coverts but thats usually it on the smoothies.

I think that sounds right. BabyDaddy Alex had a v-neck that eventually furrowed in making it a less obvious looking "v" but not the real POOF curls.

My two Buff girls have curls going up both sides of their necks and I hope it continues to fill in the V. They are young yet at 4 months old so I know will develop more by the fall. They are holding the lovely Buff coloring.
