I always get a little depressed after hatching - at first there's the excitement of all the babies pipping and zipping, then finally hatching! Then there are the ones that, for some reason, didn't make it, or die shortly after hatching. I know there are hundreds of factors that cause a chick to fail, but I always feel so responsible for them.
And then, I start to plan my next hatch... for some reason this always helps.
