I say 25 because from what ive noticed the groove isnt a real straight line after 20. It sort of spreads like in that pic. Just sayin...

Honestly I wouldn't go by just what a vet says, unless he has seen papers on her. Some vets are pretty terrible with telling age of a horse through the teeth. I speak from experience! Your best bet is to ask your equine dentist. My dentist can tell the age under twenty-five just about to the year. After twenty-five, from what I've been told, it is more difficult to tell the exact age.

I'll admit I've never been much good at determining age from teeth.

Tomorrow I can post a couple of pics for you, for comparison. I have a 7 year old, 9 year old, 16 year old, 17 year old and a 22 year old. Hopefully that will help. But if I guessed I would say 20 +

And go down about 1/2, you will see two pics. On is of a horse that is about 26, but the groove sort of shows the horse to be around 20.
The next few pics down show a horse that is KNOWN to be 26. So you need to look at websites that can help you tell a horse's age by the other
teeth as well.
Also if you pan to the bottom here, it shows the cup wear The top surface of the front teeth top/bottom. It's kinda hard to tell, but the wear pattern is fairly obvious.

I just showed my husband the photo, he has been training horses for over 25 years and he says this horse is about 25 years old.

OK, have to put in my 2 cents of vets aging horses. We took in a rescue that vet #1 swore was about 16 just very malnourished. Vet #2 said it was the oldest pony he had ever seen and placed her at 34 on the low end. She only lived about 3 more months, after a necropsy she was placed at 38.
