One of the Muscovy ducks went missing , so now the geese have to stay out to keep protecting the ducks

I have all the geese in breeding pens. How long should I wait to start saving eggs to be sure the gander they are with is the sire?

I would give it about a week or a week and a half it doesn't take long really for them to lay the fertilized egg it could be anywhere from 1 to 3 days .

The eggs are fertile. Want them to be fertile by the gander the goose is with now.

Btw geese mate for life and are usually very loyal to one another so if she was mated by another gander it's likely that her womb could go into stress killing thensperm that enter from the male who is not her mate .

That would be handy because once my geese (africans and chinese)see a egg missing they make a new nest elsewhere -_- smart things

My girl just makes due she like turns up all the earth around her to make a nest if she was in the cage , but that's not a problem anymore
