Look what I found on the internet ! This is what's happening to my chicks from Cajun and Sabine..
Chicks that do hatch without adequate carryover of vitamin B12 from the dam have a high rate of mortality. Vitamin B12-deficient embryos die at about day 17.

Vitamins A&D 1/4cc intramuscular once every2-3 weeks in brood stock to improve fertility and hatchability.

Well darnit. I came home to find the little serama that hatched under my bantam cochin last month dead in the run. Didn’t look like any damage, pecking or anything. It’s butt was a little pasty. I know none of the other chickens in that pen were messing with it. Momma looked sad.

My 2 seramas are one week old. They're doing good. (I now see them hopping on top of their rainbow-tiger-stuffed-toy-mama - just like chicks do with their real feathered mamas.) I was going to take it out of the brooder, but I don't dare. My kids are older & I no longer have infants in the house. I can enjoy uninterrupted sleep at night.

New breeder of American Serama! In ga I just got a Breeding pair a few months ago and she hatched four babies abt maybe three weeks ago all looking good!

Do micros and small A's lay later than normal sized?
I have a tiny 25 week old that hasn't started laying yet. Her comb is still yellow. Her half sister is only 3 weeks older and started laying about 1.5 months ago.
