Day 16. Was doing a dry incubation. How do these air cells look??

And all 12 are still doing well.

Looks reasonable to me, but someone more experienced should probably confirm!

Duck eggs are in the incubator, fingers crossed that they’re fertile. I’m keeping an eye on the turner too because they’re so big that I think at least one of them slides instead of rolling.

today is lockdown. candled and marked air cells. I think I saw one internally pipped and a bunch of others had shadowing..... a lot of times mine hatch on day 20 so won't be shocked to see some external pips tomorrow. I had 6 CCL, some mixed ones from my normal seller, and then 3 from my EE that lays teal eggs that made it to lockdown.

well the one I thought had internally pipped is now externally pipped. hopefully lots more to follow through the day. And knowing my luck lately it will hatch over night so I miss it. LOL

ANOTHER hen has gone broody and has a hidden nest. Three other hens are 'fighting' for a nesting box (you can see the tail of the third one at the back):

AND I think I have a Muscovy finally decide to sit eggs. They won't hatch until September though. Why do they have to take so long??!!! Five weeks is enough to drive me mad!

This is what my nest boxes looked like a couple weeks ago. Thankfully I don't have any broodies right now!!!

Only one more pip. The first one made it's pip bigger this morning but nothing else going on.

First chick is finally out!!!!!! It is one from my flock. My blue EE and either blue or splash Cochin roo. Thinking it might be splash? Which if it is then it is pretty funny since like 16 weeks ago I hatched 2 of her eggs and one is blue, one is black... So now if splash then the first 3 eggs are 1 of each color. I have 2 more of her eggs ready to hatch as well.
