Black Copper Marans discussion thread

I purchased this FBCM about 6 - 7 weeks ago. It is supposed to be female and 3 months old at the time which would make it about 4.5 months old now. I believe it is more likely to be about 2.5 - 3 months old now. Can anyone identify if it truly female?

Ok, I have a trio of chicks that are 1 month old, all have combs that say roo to me, but only two have tails, and the one with out a tail has a redder comb than the other two. Do I have all cockerels or what?

The two blacks are cockerels, I can't quite tell on the blue because the comb on my screen blends in with the background enough that it makes it hard to see.

I am pretty sure the blue is a pullet but better pics will help. Tails are not much of an indicator that I have seen... combs are the best indicator.

I am leaning towards pullet with the blue but her comb may just blend in...

Im gonna have to agree with blue pullet and both black cockerals. Eventhough blue, comb would be more red by now.

Thank you guys. I really hope it is a she! Black copper are much easier for me to hatch!!
Here are some close ups of her, should I be worried about the black in the comb, and not keep her, or do blue copper Marans have dark combs?

I have noticed that pullets tend to have black on their combs until they are fully grown. It is completely normal, she looks like a pullet.

Wonderful. That would be great. Also means I need to get more hatching eggs for a couple more blues
