I have questions about 3 of my chickens. All of my chickens are 18wks old
1. one of my chickens was labeled buff Orpington but she definitely doesn't look like other people's buff Orpingtons I've seen. What breed is she?
2. Is my polish a rooster? Just a few weeks ago he/she had the curve hair do that I've read identifies them as a hen but now it's appearing to be a messy mullet...
3. My white chicken started crowing 2 wks ago & crows all day long... Will he crow less after this teen stage? Also what breed is he?
Thank you

#1 is probably a red sex link (aka gold comet, ISA brown, etc) but could be a type of Easter egger
#2 is a cockerel
#3 going to need another picture of him

You have a golden comet pullet, white crested blue polish cockerel, and a white Leghorn cockerel.

The crowing *may* die down as your cockerel ages, but it will depend on if the cockerel is very proud of his voice, lol.

Looks like my California chickens. But, I have only had hens and not a rooster. You might want to check out the leghorn breed as well.

Note the characteristic black spot(s) on the wings of the California chickens. That's what I see on my California chickens.

I suspect a rooster will only crow more as he matures. I have only had laying hens, and they have their egg songs, but it's not enough to bother any neighbors. Good luck.

I don't mind the crowing and our neighbors aren't close enough for it to bother them. I'm just asking out of curiosity. Thank you for those comparison pics. He doesn't have any black spots, just solid white. So I'm assuming leghorn.
